This is our fourth year playing the Novato Nostalgia Days car show ans it's always a blast!
Here's Tom Atkin and his new lady. Tom is a fine piano player Y'all and a great organizer.
Here's a late 50's Ford T-Bird.
The owner had some cool "garnish" for his car and, a sense of humor.
There were some very cool trucks there too.
Hey, where's the band?
Isn't there a band playing today?
Yep, and they're really good too!
So many shirts, so little time.
Our sound person Melinda. She is absolutely the best we've ever worked with.
Here's Terry, our fav Rockabilly Chick.
There were some cool people there.
Hey, some folks are just BORN cool!
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air................................1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Okay, most folks know that my favorite car is a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. I didn't see any there but there were a couple of Turquoise puppies that caught my attention. Car folks refer to the 1955, 1956 and 1957 Bel Airs as the "Tri Chevy" years. It can be a little hard to tell the difference from the 1955 and 1956 models to the untrained eye. So here's a little lesson, the '55, on the left, has different chrome sidings than the '56 on the right. The chrome on the '56 model stretches across the door to the front fender.
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air................................1956 Chevrolet Bel Air The 1955 model, on the left, has smaller turn signals than the 1956 model on the right. There are also different hood orniments and front grills.
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air................................1956 Chevrolet Bel Air The 1955 model, on the left, has larger rear lights and a different back hood piece than the 1956 model on the right. The shade of Turquoise used on all three "Tri-Chevys" was slightly different each year.
Okay, I'm STILL looking for a 1957 Bel Air and haven't found one but here's a cool 1958. Okay, this is not a Bel Air it's a BIscayne. It was the first year that the Bel Air was not considered the top of the line.
Randy & his lady
Steve, Jana, Renny & LaRonda my high school buddies from left to right. Renny has got his nose stuck in my new book on our hometown Broadmoor Village.
My best friend Leif Carlson and his new lady. Leif also grew up in Broadmoor, right around the corner from me.
Don't forget to smile
Hey, this band is REALLY good!
Thanx, all in a day's work. I'll plant you now and dig you later Greg....ah......I mean.... Dave |
