Sharon Caren - Crimmen ( Sunset High School '67 ) , Paul Hodgskiss ( Westmoor '73 ) Michael Nicholson ( Westmoor '72 ) , La Ronda Wirch - Bucciarelli ( Westmoor '72 )
Okay Gang, this is where I went to High School. Westmoor High School is located at 131 Westmoor Ave. Daly City, CA 94015, U.S.A. This is what it looks like on the West side facing Westmoor Ave.
Here's what it looks like on the East side where the main parking lot is.
Our team mascot is the Ram. Here's a "Pic" of the Ram and .... Ramette circa 1964-1965. Our school colors were Green and White , though now-a-daze it's Green Gold & White. I am told that the name of the school was made up of kidz from two different districts built by Henry Doleger. Building of these two districts started in 1948, one being called Westlake and the other Broadmoor Village. Westlake was annexed by Daly City though Broadmoor to this day is fiercely independent and remains an unincorporated district under San Mateo County jurisdiction. Now some of you might be wondering, just what IS an "Anti-Reunion" . It really started out as a joke. After 35 years ( I graduated in 1973 ) , I finally decided to go to one of my school reunions. One of my school buddies, Kathy, came to one of my gigs and was pretty upset. Apparently, our reunion was cancelled/rescheduled. My response was simple "Screw 'em. Let's have a 'Anti-Reunion' . I don't care if we show up at a bowling alley and have pot luck". Well that started a wild fire of e-mails that created Westmoor High-School's first ever anal.........I mean Annual "Anti-Reunion". I want to thank all of the folks who participated on what became the "Westmoor High School Anti-Reunion Non-Planning Committee" . Jana Wirch-Wright (Class of '73) , Renny Wright - Wirch (Class of '72), Sue Medina- Larson (Class of '72), Tom King (Class of '74), Scott Molver (Class of '74), La Ronda Wirch-Bucciarelli (Class of '72), Leslie Summers (Class of '73). I guess, you could add me (Class of '73) to the list seeing that Jana, Sue and yours truly were the "Ring Leaders" of this....conspiracy. Along the way we ran into an alumni, Pat Stark (Class of '67) and Darlene DeMarco (Class of '68). These two supplied the original plaques from the senior bench which now does not exist. Each year had a plaque to represent itself but due to the constant fog it deteriorated over the years. Pat, Dalene and a few of thier friends saved the plaques and allowed us to photo them and other Westmoor memorabilia. The first ever Anti-Reunion was for the combined classes of 1971, 1972, 1973 & 1974. Below are photos taken at Pat's house that we blew up and put on display at the Anti-Reunion". Many Thanx to both Pat & Darlene.
Below is still more "Stuff" from Pat & Darlene's dayz at Westmoor:
Now I remember folks wearing these buttons when I was a Freshman.....in...1969 ????? Schessh !
These two are specifically from Pat's class of 1967
Okay, for those of you viewing this who live in Rio, Stockholm or even in Marin county, I will explain. These are Rally Committee buttons given out to folks who came to our sports events. You know, football games track meets etc. Westmoor used to be part of the N.P.L. ( North Peninsula League ). Here's a list of the schools that made up the N.P.L. way back in the last millennium: WESTMOOR ( Rams ) Daly City, CA JEFFERSON ( Indians ) Daly City, CA SERRAMONTE ( Regents ) Daly City, CA SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ( Warriors ) South San Francisco, CA EL CAMINO ( Colts ) South San Francisco, CA TERRA NOVA ( Tigers ) Pacifica, CA OCEANA ( Sharks ) Pacifica, CA HALF MOON BAY ( Cougars ) Half Moon Bay, CA
Here's one I don't understand. Mills High School is in Millbrae, CA and was part of the M.P.L. ( Mid Peninsula League )
Now, I also remember kidz having all of these items when i went there including the troll
Ah yes, every Freshman got a copy of the school's " Doos and Don'ts "
Now a few weeks before the actual event, Renny, LaRonda and myself met to check out the old cafeteria. I didn't know it, but a lot of the school dances were held in the cafeteria. It looks pretty much the same and the acoustics really are the same.........not very good.. This is looking from the north side towards the south where the kitchen is. Renny was the head chef so he needed to know that we could cook more than just french fries. The court yard is to the left of this photo
Still looking south. In the photo on the left, the Court Yard is on the left. In the "Pic" on the right is Westmoor Ave.
Here's a pic of me and Renny. This is looking North with the kitchen to our backs. Or should I say LaRonda's back cause she was snapping the shutter. The Court Yard is now to the right of the photo and in the far right corner is where the Juke-Box used to be. It was a Seeburg, possibly a 200 and was covered with chrome.
Still looking north, with the Court Yard to the right of each of the photos
Now I asked LaRonda to take some pictures of the Court Yard. It's located due east between the cafeteria and the gyms. The reason I made a little issue about the Court Yard is because it will not exist after 2009. The cafeteria is being expanded according to current Principal Reyes. This is looking south with the cafeteria on the right side and the gym on the left side
Still looking south. At the far end are the lines for the windows where you could get a quick snack like a gooey burrito or greasy french fries. Complete lunches were served inside.
Looking into the cafeteria from the Court Yard. If you look close enough, you can see the houses across the street from the school through the windows of the cafeteria.
Okay, enough of the "Warm-Up" show. I guess you could say these are the three "Ring Leaders" for the First Anal......I mean Annual "Anti-Reunion / Non-Planning Committee" Left to Right, Sue Medina-Larson ( Class of '72 ), That tall dark semi-good looking guitar player ( Class of '73 ) and Jana Wirch-Wright ( Class Of '73 )
Here's the rest of the Revolutionists, Chef "Boy 'O Boy" Mr. Renny Wright - Wirch ( Class of '72 ) , La Ronda Wirch - Bucclarelli ( Class of '72 ), pssst don't tell anyone but she's Jana's "Seeester"
Tom King ( Class of '74 ) and Scott Molver ( Class of '74 )
The kidz who are currently enroled at Westmoor heard about our revolution so It was real cool of them to say " Hi " to us.
Okay, Jana INSISTED that I have Sharon take pictures of my Block Jacket to be part of the display. As some of you know, I wore it for our Lunch hour concert at Westmoor in 2007. Funny thing is, it fits me better now than it did then!
Okay, real quick, I got the Gold medal cause we were Champs in Football when we were Sophomores. On the left side of the jacket, that's the picture on the right. Are you good and confused now? Okay, when I was a Sophomore, I was awarded blocks in Football, Wrestling & Track. I got the second Track block when I was a Junior and the third when i was A Senior. The Star is for when I was a Block "W" Sergeant At Arms. The last thing is my class pin ( '73 ). Now, By the book, two of my Track blocks should have been put on the Block "W" cause they're for Varsity teams but I just thought it looked cooler this way. Now back to our regular scheduled programs.
Michael Nicholson ( '72 ) got there before Sharon and was able to take some really cool "Pics" of us setting up. Here's Scott Molver ( '74 ) & Jana Wrirch - Wright ( '73 ) doin' Da Balloons
La Ronda Wirch-Bucciarelli ( '72 ) and her SEESTER Jana Wirch - Wright ( '73 )
Don Larson, Sue's " Better Half " , Sue Medina - Larson ( '72 ) & Jana Wirch - Wright ( '73 ). What caught my eye about this photo is, in the back ground, is the house of my good budy Elias Salazar ( Westmoor '77 ). No folks the "Pic" is NOT blurry, that's good 'ol Daly City fog comin' in at'cha
For name tags, Jana made "Hall Passes" that looked like our old student Body Cards. To be specific, "Student I.D.s" were for all attendees and "Hall Monitor Passes" were for members of the " Non-Planning Committee Members ". They were even signed by Mr. Hyde. The cat we ALL remember who was in charge of catching, or trying to catch, those of us that "Cut" class.
Ah, the tables, the room and the band are finally set up. Time to get on with the show !
Okay, just cause the "Stage" is set, there are still things "Cooking" back stage. Head Chef, Renny Wright ( '72 ) is on the left. Reny was in my brother Raymond's class. He played Little leagus baseball with me, Ray and his brother Roland ( '73 ). We were all on the P..A.L. Red Sox. We all went to Garden Village K-6, the Ben Franklin Jr. High and then Westmoor. Okay, getting back to "Chez Renny" above L to R are Renny Wright ( '72 ), Nancy Hall - Nicholson ( Serramonte High School '72 ), Jimmy Farras ( '72 ). Michelle ( Jimmy's guest ) and Ms. Rita Peppers the current Westmoor Kitchen Supervisor
Here's Jana ( '73 ) with Art Widfeldt ( '73 ) and his wife Britta. Art is class of '73 and, like Renny, Roland & my brother Ramon, went through Garden Village ( K - 6 grades ), Ben Franklin ( Jr. High School ) and Westmoor High School with us.
Kathy Wickham - Sacchi ( '73 ) and my buddy Gary McLane ( '73 ). Gary has done quiet well for himself, his is currently Chief of Police for Daly City, CA. It was Gary who was naturally in charge of "Security". He brought up Daly City Police Expolorers from Post 817 where a lot of local law enforcement folks got their start. Thanx Partner !
The girl who usually never gets in the pictures, cause she's usually taking them, my wife Sharon Caren ( Sunset High School '67 ). Thanx Michael

Here's Ms. Rita Peppers the current Westmoor Kitchen Supervisor & Nancy Hall - Nicholson ( Serramonte High School '72 ) FYI Nancy is Michael's wife.
